About the Farm In 1994 two city-raised parents in our thirties with a goal to create something special, found a perfect Victorian fixer-upper on a hill in the back country of San Diego County. Along with our two children, we worked hard planting a vineyard, an herb garden, and the following year, Claude began making his first soaps.
By 2005, after negotiating through the learning curves of running a business, Sky Valley Farm Fresh Gourmet Soap was shipping our specialty soaps and lotions to stores, catalog companies, and hotels across the USA and beyond.
On October 22 2007, the up-til-then largest wildfire in California history raced through San Diego County burning 198,000 acres, 1,700 homes and structures. Sky Valley Farm was among the casualties.
We spent a year rebuilding, but in the end we felt the call to \move on and relocated ourselves and the business to Eugene, Oregon for a fresh start. We continue hand making our soaps and lotions in town while we search for that next perfect spot on a hill...
